#ColoredPeopleUnited

June 4, 2020

Pastor Eastman and I decided to form an international prayer movement against racial injustice called, #ColoredPeopleUnited. We gathered together in Atlantic Beach, Florida to have a time of prayer with Christians of every color and nationality. Not only was this a time of prayer, this was also a call to action.

4 WAYS TO BRING PEACEFUL CHANGE

CRY FOR JUSTICE

The Bible says in Psalm 25:8-9 “Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way.”    -God is a God of Justice. He will not allow injustice and the oppression of His people to continue. We must always pray for justice. Know Justice, know peace!

DON'T BE COLOR BLIND

None of us chose our skin color. Whites did not choose to be white. Blacks did not choose to be black. We were born into our skin. God made us this way on purpose. He didn’t make us these colors for us to ignore it. He made us with different colors so that we can grow and appreciate one another. Say, “God made colors, and I like what I see.”

LISTEN AND AFFIRM

We all have different experiences. Some Whites may have different experiences than Blacks. Rather than point fingers at each other, we should listen and affirm each others experiences, and recognize the differences, then build a solution.

TEACH THE TRUTH

No one who loves God approves of the actions of those who harmed people in the past or present.  None of us can change or rewrite the past, but if we fight the uncomfortable fight to work together, we can write a new future.
